First of all I would like to welcome Jo & Dale, their family & friends as they bring Edward to be baptised today. I am delighted to be baptising Edward as it is always a privilege to welcome a new person into the family of Christ as he begins his journey to learn more about Jesus Christ. The parents & Godparents offer up the promises for Edward today; they will guide him & help him to understand more about who Jesus Christ is & what it means to be a Christian until he is able to decide for himself where his faith may lie. The church family are here to welcome Edward, parents & Godparents as they make promises in today’s service to assist Edward on this journey. All refreshments are in the hall after today’s service: please join the family there.

This week, I visited another care home to look at opportunities for members of the home to join us in special celebrations and how we can interact with the home.
On Friday I was at the commissioning service for the new head teacher, Mrs Amanda Konrath which was held in the cathedral. It was a privilege to be there & watch Mrs Konrath being blessed in her future role.
Next week is a big service for St Faith’s. It is our patronal festival where we will be celebrating St Faith’s day. It is also our harvest & welcome service for students, followed by a shared lunch. Please do join us. It is destined to be a colourful affair – can’t say more than that at this time. We will be taking this opportunity to commission leaders working with children & young people & also our new chalice administrators. We are welcoming people with different roles who work with children to come forward & be blessed, including people who hear children read, dinner staff etc. The service is one of celebration, please do come & join us if you can. Any food donated for the harvest collection will be going to the Lincoln Community Food Larder. The children from the schools will be adding to this at their harvest services on the Monday.
